At Buckeye Iowa, eight Eldora precinct delegates faced seating challenges amid a gubernatorial and presidential split. Kilmer charged the January 24 caucus was illegal due to weather delays. Eldora officials denied postponement. 34 elders voted to seat Eldora, 19 against. Muskie led with 53 percent supporting 14 delegates. McGovern 27.3 percent with eight delegates. County delegates head to Hampton March 26 for district and state conventions.
