Post office moves to C N Smith store in Eldora
Yesterday the New Providence post office relocated into C N Smith's store with J M Harley as postmaster. Bernhardt Steinberg was injured by a bull last Tuesday evening when he attempted to tie the animal in a stall and was gored. August Lyman killed a 36 pound wildcat east of the river Tuesday morning.

Plan To Repeat Spring Tests For Brucellosis
Dr. John B. Herrick of Tawa State College reports many dairy herds positive to brucellosis ring tests last year were not blood tested. Spring ring tests will be re conducted in Delaware Clayton Winneshiek Fayette Buchanan Bremer Franklin Black Hawk counties with follow up blood tests and a rise in calfhood vaccination adoption. The effort from Iowa Extension Service state Dept of Agriculture and Bureau of Animal Industry aims to eradicate brucellosis, also called undulant fever in humans.

Rotator valves linked to longer tractor life
Dale Hull, extension agricultural engineer, says valve rotators may extend life of tractor exhaust valves by turning them a few degrees each stroke. Rotators wipe deposits that cause sticking and improper seating, reducing overheating and burning. If a valve job is needed every 500 operating hours, rotators may help.

Valve Rotators Explained for 1953 Tractors
Two types of valve rotators exist free valve rotation and positive rotation. Hull advises checking with a local implement dealer to choose the correct rotator before installation. Rotators can be installed by most dealers and some 1953 tractors come factory equipped. Tests suggest rotation may extend valve life three to five times, but other valve-life factors remain, such as lubrication, seat and guide wear, tappet adjustment, and cooling issues.
