75 Years Ago 1885 Mayor J P Hadley fractured his right hip after slipping on ice in his back yard. Dr Underwood reduced the fracture. he is doing well but will miss several weeks. Also note for 1895 a memorial of old Indian Bagernock’s death at Tama and a 38 minute 43 second five mile walking match at the Ting between Elis of New York and Harvey Snyder of Eldora.
The Sno Ball dance drew many students with festive decorations and lively music. Highlights include a napkin snowman, sparkling stars, and a strong crowd. upcoming January third return to school, tests possibly delayed to May, and annual proofs from Santa letters discussed. Team scores and bowling standings are listed for Wellsburg and local leagues.
On Tuesday December 20 the annual pictures were taken under director Martha Short. The class groups photographed include mixed chorus FHA FFA magazine winners librarians student council tiger tracks pep club FE club Thespians apprentices debate drill team boys basketball and cheerleaders. Thanks go to Troy and Martha for making the yearbook a success and to everyone who was out of class all day.
Editors mark The Eldora Case as the top Iowa news story of 1945. Eldora Tigerettes beat Zearing 46-31 with 16 points by Margaret Mitchell and Lillian Johnson. half score 25-14. Five years earlier Eldora drubbed State Center 64-48 and 57-49 in rough games. Fidora district received 7639.37 in supplemental state aid for 1954-55. Melvin Pence won a Florida vacation via Electrolux contest.
The note thanks the student body faculty and friends for supporting basketball and invites them to a January 3 1961 game versus Union-Whitten. It also reports Susan Schwebke won a $10 prize in a weekly and final drawing connected to annual sales raffles.

Eldora Strike and Spares and Team No. 4 trail as New Providence Town posts top team game 636 and top team series 1239. Ron Reece achieves high individual game 146 while John Gethman clocks high series 285.
A large turnout of children gathered Saturday at 27 Eldora stores for the final Christmas promotion. Winners listed include Mrs. Gerald Vaughn United Food Mrs. Leslie Pieters Bekemeier Mrs. R. G. Heard Graham's Charles Crandall Coast to Coast and several others from local merchants.
