Shrubbery Planted at Union Public Library for Centennial Preparations
4H members under Dick Bassett guid e planted a Mugo Pine and four Dwraf Japanese Hedge Yews at the Union Public Library as part of a landscaping plan approved by the Library Board. Allen Huston selected the trees, helped with land planning, and the board funded the project. The library offers a children’s summer program and bookmobile services, with arts and crafts displays and meeting space in the basement. Library support comes from Hardin County Union, gifts, memorials, and fundraisers.

By order of the District Court of Hardin County Iowa a writ of special execution has been issued against Connie Ocmann and Rhodes Lumber Company to satisfy a judgment in favor of Towns Falls Federal Savings & Loan Association. The South Half of Lots 3 and 4 Block 6 North Addition to Towa Falls will be sold at public auction on May 8, 1972 at 10 00 oclock A M at the courthouse front door Eldora Iowa to the highest bidder for cash. Prices include debt totaling 10946 89 plus costs and interest. Sheriff Lowell H McCormick of Hardin County issued April 3 1972 with notices for publication.
