The San Antonio assembly, voting El Paso 126 to 148 for Ft Worth as next meeting site, adjourned with praise for the fight. Delegates attributed defeat to Senator Turney and Mr. Gage's absence and officers were elected including M. Mackenzie as president.

A Denver man, Charles S. Leppart, armed with knives and guns, confronted his wife Viola during a visit. She leaped from a window and dangled from a three story cornice until rescued. Warrants issued for Leppart.
The credentials committee reports over five hundred miners attending the Hazelton convention. President Mitchell warns a big strike will occur if operators refuse a conference and exchange of views, calling peaceful settlement the humane and proper path.
Captain Cortigiese of the Dutch steamer Flandra reports that several large liners passed without stopping to aid his vessel and crew in distress near Queenstown. The West Point finally towed the disabled ship to port, averting disaster. an investigation will likely follow.
Milwaukee March 13 Charles H Rowan former matrimonial agent was found guilty of offering a United States official twenty five hundred dollars to let him go free. He faces about three years in the penitentiary and a fine of seventy five hundred dollars.
