A party of fifteen Mexican school teachers left New York bound for Vera Cruz after a thorough U S tour at the expense of the Vera Cruz state to study primary and lower grade school management. The group includes Misses Harriet Fay Mendezabal Leeradi Sanchez Divian Cortina Sherwell Galvio Ramos and Messrs Ephraim Barza Alexander M Gaw Paul Dehera Ramos Dehesa Dr Sturrsile Florencio Sturrane.
The speaker notes that Russia has two repair docks, while Japan maintains a standing army of 250000 with modern weapons. It is claimed arsenals are active day and night and militia forces are fully equipped with potential expansion to 500000 fighting men on short notice.

Admission 50 cents adults, 25 cents children. tickets at the gate or local outlets. The McGisty band will also play at the plaza tonight.
Miss Helen Gould arrives with six friends in a private car from Boston and is greeted by a large crowd. The visit marks the unveiling of the Spanish guns captured by Dewey at Manila, with a grand parade and schoolchildren saluting the party.
In response to a call by President Charles D. Winter and Secretary Edward J. Mosk the Nebraska League of Republican clubs holds a state convention in Lincoln. Officers will be elected and delegates chosen for the National Convention of Republican clubs to meet in St Paul Minnesota July 17 through 19.
The North Atlantic squadron under Rear-Admiral Farquhar sailed from Boston for Newport Rhode Island today. Headquarters will be at Newport until the last of July. The fleet includes the battleships Kearsarge Kentucky Indiana Massachusetts Texas and the armored cruiser New York.
Santa Rosa June 28 The directors of the Sacramento Valley Hop Growers association seek to unite crop centers across California to back the brewer plan to limit production. They have called a convention of loop-growers to be held here today to advance the movement.

In Mishawaka Indiana a fatal crash occurred between two Grand Trunk double header freight trains. Brakeman Moon was killed and engineers McCarty and Mulvey were seriously injured by jumping. Two engines were demolished and the log haul projected at seventy thousand dollars.

A $230 money order from Alamogordo readers Nora Pelparey and Lula Blakely is sent for immediate aid, while a $60 contribution from El Paso citizens is acknowledged by Rev. A M Lumpkin and the Christian Herald as support for starving Indians.
