Marcus Daly and associates of the Anaconda Mining Co sell all holdings to an eastern syndicate led by John D. Rockefeller for 32 million pounds. Daly receives six million. Haggin thirty nine million. Tevis eight million. The deal includes most of Araconda town and Montana Wyoming coal and timber assets.
President McKinley spends a busy day in Holyoke greeting thousands including Mt Holyoke and city school students at William Whiting’s home.
