Brakeman William Hanway of the G H yards suffered a severe injury when his right foot was crushed by a moving car at 4am in darkness near the shops. He was taken to his East San Antonio street home after the incident and is reported doing as well as could be expected.
The Las Vegas Optic notes 112000 tons of foreign raw sugar arrived at three U S ports last week, with at least 600 factories needed to process it. US beet sugar output totals 40000 tons in the year, less than 40 percent of one week’s foreign arrival, suggesting no beet sugar overproduction risk and promoting New Mexico as a favorable site for production.

Surgeons retrieved 3 knife blades 1 five bladed jack knife 23 tacks 4 screws 2 brass hooks 3 steel plates 1 teaspoon and broken glass and crockery. Whallen remains weak but should recover unless inflammation develops.
