Tipton. bail set at 250, not furnished. Willhelm Wilcox leaves for the Velardenia mines in Mexico to join a mining company, likely staying long. Lane, Hayward and other California missing men proceed from the south to San Francisco after mining success in Mexico. The Santa Fe line carries W. C. Schofield to St. Louis, Mrs Kerfoot to Princeton Mo., Jett Slade to Galup N. M., Mrs. James Ward and sister to San Marcial, T. W. Warriver to Denver, R. E. Spencer to Colorado Springs, P. S. Muir to Colorado Springs.

Washington report says the President will ask Congress to Pass a bill creating a non partisan currency commission before adjournment of the special session. Republican leaders expect tariff bill passage by July 1 and anticipate a special message to Congress urging action within twenty four hours after passage.
Ex Lieutenant Governor Nye is named the Democratic candidate to succeed Turpie in the U.S. Senate. The race also features prominent Republicans Gen. Lew Wallace and Governor Mount. If Wallace enters, Mount would withdraw from the race.
About 100 Polish miners occupied a mine in Minonk Illinois this morning to pressure workers to quit. Superintendent Morgan fired twice into the ground then shot a man named Joan Wetoski killing him. The superintendent was then attacked and beaten and is reported to be near death.
At the ca5iast meeting the main issue was choosing a minister to Madrid to relieve Hannis Taylor. Several names were proposed but only three were seriously considered, including B. R. Tracy former secretary of the navy.
The Western Union Telegraph company applied to the New York Stock Exchange to issue two million dollars more stock. The funds will back new lines and a Chicago building valued at one and a half million dollars. The stock has been sold.
The St Josephs Academy closing exercises honored scholastic and artistic achievement with twelve gold medals awarded by local benefactors. Laureates included May Bric Lizzie McCarthy Helen Emerson Rosa Oechsner and many others for Christian doctrine math attendance drawing bookkeeping English grammar and general excellence. The program featured solos instrumental pieces recitations and plays praised by the audience and faculty.
