Died Suddenly Former Chicago Times Herald Writer

H. R. Lowrie, formerly on the Chicago Times Herald staff, died suddenly on a train just before Albuquerque yesterday. He had spent months at Hudson Hot Springs where the Chicago ball team trained, contributing articles from that point. The Los Angeles Times carried his piece The city of Rocks last Sunday.

Tularosa hosts an old fashioned Fourth of July with oxen sheep and pigs barbecue, a cowboy tournament and a general good time. A brief session of the school board at E. C. Pew's office approved two bonds for Treasurer A. G. Foster. A regular bond of $20,000 was signed by J. A. Smith, Leigh Clark, A. P. Coles, H. B. Walker predicts westward growth for Tularosa area

B N Walker of George S Good & Co. told a Herald reporter before leaving on the White Oaks yesterday that the extension of the road reaches 0.8 miles beyond Tularosa. The depot sits 0.5 miles west of town with shade trees planted and new streets laid out. He believes the town will unquestionably extend toward the west.

Work Resumed on New City Hall After Brick Shortage

Construction on the city hall has restarted following days of idle work caused by a shortage of buff brick. The project officials announced the setback and confirmed crews returned to the site.
