Sixth Indictment Against J A Case For Forgery
The grand jury returned indictment number six against contractor J A Case for forgery by altering a receipt dated 11 1899 for 12.60 from R J Harrold. It allegedly changed Harvey's restaurant to Mrs Black's house. Case previously received five years for the first indictment, with about thirty years ahead. Additional indictments named Reyes Hernandez for theft from the person and John Harrison for burglary. Harrison was caught pawning Dr Townsends overcoat. Hernandez was convicted and sentenced to two years.
