A Jaycees fundraiser for youth aged 11 to 18 includes a contest and afternoon activities. Organizers promote community support and participation in Mecintae of today events at 2 pm.

Deputy Bill Saunders reports no injuries after an 8 10 a m collision on the Union County bypass. Mark Goode of Natchitoches La tried to pass Jeffro Henry of Pelham Street driving a two ton truck for Arkola Sand and Gravel Co as Henry entered from Highway 8. The mishap occurred near a placid pond fringed by oaks hickory maples and pines.
