Famed Schola Cantorum To Be Presented In El Dorado Concert
The University of Arkansas Cantorum, the only space choir to win first prize at the International Poly competition, will appear at El Dorado Auditorium on February 2. Proceeds will aid the Canto company touring Europe. Gilbert and Arenae Pouy lead the event with selections by the faculty. The Cantorum will later perform in Aix-en-Provence and plan engagements in France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Yugoslavia, and England, marking their first England appearance and first trip behind the iron curtain.

The El Dorado Art League voted at its February meeting to participate in the Arkansas State Festival of Arts in Little Rock this spring. It will host a separate prize event at Ronnie's Flower Shop offering 100 dollars in popular vote prizes, and plan an exchange exhibit with the Southern Artists Association in Hot Springs in June. Paul Ganong of the Arkansas Arts Center spoke on color, value, and teaching methods for an eight week art lesson series starting March 2, with classes on Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Symphony Prepares For Spring Concert Series Beginnings
The South Arkansas Symphony rehearses for a Spring Concert Series with El Dorado on March 13 Camden on March 20 and Magnolia on March 21. Soloists Miss Susan Brewer and Miss Vivian Jean Patton, winners of the 1966 Student Piano Concerto Contest, will perform with Miss Brewer in El Dorado and Magnolia and Miss Patton in Camden. The orchestra mixes professionals and amateurs from South Arkansas and Louisiana under Dr Eloy Fominaya. The group meets weekly, aiming to involve local people as musicians and listeners.
