Two Wrecks Reported No Injuries In County
State Trooper Travis Nash reported two vehicle wrecks Tuesday afternoon with no injuries. At 2 10 p.m. on Mt Holly Road M J Billingsley was rear ended by a 1959 pickup driven by Walter Hicks. both vehicles had light damage and Hicks was charged with following too close. At 4 15 p.m. on Highway 82 Ross Mayfield and Donald Burnside collided when Mayfield turned right. both cars were heavily damaged with Mayfield charged for failing to signal and Burnside for following too close.

Miss Linda Spooner of Junction City receives the Honor Certificate Award for her 1966 youth magazine piece Land That I Love. Kenneth D. Wells of the Freedom Foundation at Valley Forge announced the selection as an effort to foster understanding of the American Way of Life. Spooner, 19, a freshman at Arkansas College in Batesville, lived in the Belgian Congo until 1960. her parents reside at Faraway Farm in Junction City.
