Local hairdressers win prizes at Oaks Cafeteria banquet
Six local hairdressers received trophies during National Beauty Salon Week awards at the Oaks Cafeteria banquet. Cecilia Snodgrass won professional first, Marilyn Taylor student first. Theresa Morgan and Carol Franklin took second and third in pro, Jean Fite and Gail Peppers second and third in student. Models included Mary Jane Beene and Hannah Linxwiler for pros, Becky Tullis and others for students. Judges from Arkansas Hairdressers and Cosmetologists Association praised styling as art. Mayor Pesses received honorary membership.
