Henry Kirstein 36, owner and driver, is hospitalized at St Elizabeths Highland with a fractured skull and a broken left arm after losing control north of Maryville. Passenger Charles Schwaebele 42 sustained a three inch facial cut. Both men were bruised and treated at the scene and later at the hospital.

Hollywood, June 27. Walt Disney, creator of Mickey and Minnie, was ordered to the hospital after suffering a severe throat ailment. Doctors blamed strain from talking in the mouse language used in talkie cartoons, an ailment Disney underwent surgery for yesterday.

Radio entertains jail prisoners to boost morale
At Madison County Jail Sheriff Peter Fitzgerald installed a radio to curb singing and noise among prisoners awaiting trial or serving time. He said the radio is a trial measure, to remain if orders are followed, and it can be heard in the lower corridors where prisoners on walkthroughs operate it. Baseball games are a main favorite among programs.

George W Carter Dies Near Worden At 66
George W. Carter, a farmer living three miles east of Worden, died yesterday at 1 35 pm after a recent illness from dropsy. He was 66 years 5 months and 24 days old. He is survived by a widow and several children. Funeral services will be Sunday at 1 30 pm from the family residence to Staunton Baptist church with Rev. C E Mosher officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Wading Pool 10 Opens Monday At Junior High
Plans were completed today for opening the children’s wading pool at the Junior High School Monday.
