Adolph Klingel veteran grocer and Edwardsville resident for nearly eight decades died at his North Main Street home after complications from a stroke on March 6 1928 He owned a local grocery store for 65 years and helped found Edwardsville Volunteer Fire Department and the Turnverein He served as alderman and mayor pro tem and helped establish Chleens Park Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery on Sunday. He was born December 1 1847 in Shiloh near Belleville and is survived by family including his son Ben Klingel.
