Dale's successor deferred in township record
The vacancy in the office of the late Justice of the Peace James B. Dale will wait until the regular April 1932 township election. Town Clerk Chas H Loehlke said no special meeting is planned and the next regular session is in September. If the unexpired term is under a year it may be filled by the town board, but Dale's term would run to April 1933. Other justices will handle duties temporarily. a future vacancy will be declared before spring and filled with the regular election. A special election would cost about $700. Records are with his son Douglas J Dale and will be turned over to County Clerk Joseph Hots for filing.

Nautilus Advances Toward Ireland On Partial Power
Captain Dutton of the battleship Wyoming reports the submarine Nautilus, towed after a mid Atlantic breakdown, has one engine repaired and is moving toward Queenstown Ireland partly under its own power. The tow line broke yesterday but was refastened and the pair, aided by the Nautilus port motor, make eight knots in good weather. They expect to reach Queenstown Saturday.

Washington June 17 Teinar Hallquist Edwardsville as a collaborator with Charles I Frede St Louis today was granted a patent for a railway vehicle underframe. He filed Oct 20 1930 and twenty claims were allowed. The patent was assigned to General Steel Castings Corporation Orranite City Til. The invention describes a railway vehicle underframe with side sills bolsters a center sill and transoms connected to bolster upper flanges in the same plane to carry a floor.

Woman shot by husband after giving birth to child
Mrs. Vincent Maczewsii, 35, of 813 Greenwood Street, Madison, died after a pistol carried by her husband discharged while he was out with a nurse. He said he placed the revolver for protection. it fell from his pocket and the bullet struck her while she rested in bed. She died two hours later.

Pete Heeren a about 60 year old Ft Russell Township farmer sustained minor injuries when an empty automobile transport rear ended his farm wagon on Springfield Road near the Three Mile House at Gaid. The truck driver’s name was not obtained. The crash frightened the wagon mules, damaged the wagon, and left both mules injured. Heeren was taken to Edwardsville for treatment.
