Edwardsville High School will hold its 1921 commencement Friday at 8 pm in the High School Gym. Thurman Dusty Miller will give the address and Jesse L. Simpson will present diplomas. The program includes honors pins, a violin solo, and a sportsmanship address with a valedictory titled At the Milestone of Commencement. The alphabetically listed graduates include Jennie Albrecht through Evelyn Linn among others.

Sleepwalking Aviator Wrecks Plane Near Montevideo

Edwardsville today hosted YT. & Henry a Granite City photographer with a complete file for the Madison County Courier first issued Oct 2 1865. The volume loaned to Chas S Gillespie secretary of the Madison County Historical Society contains notes and a 1825 Indian treaty receipt worth 27 to the Kaskaskia Tribe. Henry also showed signatures of Shadrock Bond Illinois first governor and Pierre Menard lieutenant governor, preserved well in the edition.

Mrs Christina Dalhaus dies in Staunton at 78
Mrs Christina Dalhaus died at her son Henry Dalhaus home in Staunton at 7 this morning after six months illness due to complications. Born June 22 1852 in St Louis Mo she was 78 years 11 months and 11 days old. She married Frank Dalhaus in Edwardsville in 1874. Survived by son Henry and four stepdaughters plus a brother and several grandchildren. Funeral Friday at 3 pm at Straube Funeral Home with services at Uden Evangelical Church and interment at St James Cemetery.

Aged Resident Adelaide Martin Dies at Home
Adelaide Martin, aged resident of Edwardsville, died at her home Tuesday night from complications after a two year illness. Funeral services are set for Thursday at 2 50 p m at Marks Weber Funeral Home with Rev David Wahl officiating and interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Born February 22 1851 in Bremen Germany she came to America in 1853 and settled in Edwardsville where she remained. Surviving are two daughters Mrs H A Dierkes and Emma Martin of Edwardsville and several sons and grandchildren.
