Marine man hurt in crash with herd of cows
Joseph Seiberlich of Marine suffered a broken arm and possible rib injuries when his Ford collided with twenty cows near the Jacob Vollrath home, 140 miles east of Strutt. Two cows died, a third was injured as Mrs. Vollrath, driving the herd, escaped unharmed while nearby a second passenger remained uninjured. The car was slightly damaged and Seiberlich was treated at the Vollrath home before being taken to St. Joseph's Hospital at Highland.

Henry Harmening, a Bethalto resident born January 10 1877 in Ft Russell Township, died at St Josephs Hospital in Alton at 6 16 am after overheating Tuesday while working on the George Melkamp farm near Moro.
