Man Found Frozen in Millstadt Field After Blizzard
The frozen body of John Schneeberger, laborer from Millstadt Illinois, was found in a corn field near Jacob Schorr farm southeast of Millstadt. He had been missing since the December 17 blizzard. A coroner's inquest was planned in Millstadt with no violence noted. The blizzard death toll in St Clair County rises to three with August Blaske and Jed Klupp previously found in Caseyville and near Collinsville.

Funeral services for Peter Prakeshot were held Saturday afternoon at 2 oclock at the family home on Roy Road. The death occurred Wednesday morning after an illness of about one year. Gottlieb Jose aged 67 of Highland died early this morning at St Josephs Hospital after four weeks as a patient. A Swiss by birth, he came to the U S as a boy and served 38 years as a special deputy sheriff and constable in Highland. He married Emmia Wernecke of Grantfork in 195 and is survived by his wife and six children Florence Spangole Felton Lawrence Mabel Oliver and Gert rude Jose all of Highland. Funeral services are set for Wednesday at 2 pm from the residence with Rev Miche in charge. Burial will follow at Highland City Cemetery.

Belleville Man Killed by Train on Grade Crossing
Jos Hendricks, 22, and Miss Mary Loeker, 21, both of Belleville, were injured when their car was struck by a Louisville and Nashville train at a grade crossing on the outskirts of Belleville Saturday night. Hendricks died at St Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville. Loeker was seriously hurt but expected to recover, suffering facial and body cuts and severe bruising.
