Alhambra Native Tobias Dies After Illness At 67
Conrad R Tobias a native of Bethalto and longtime Ft Russell resident died at 9 PM after several weeks illness including pneumonia. He will be buried Sunday from his Bethalto residence with services at Bethalto church conducted by Rev Hagsemeier. Burial will follow at Bethalto cemetery. Pallbearers named Hy Bowman Ben Bowman William Weyen Henry Balster and Dewey Balster. He was born September 5 1859 in Bethalto lived most of his life in the area and never married. Surviving are two sisters Mrs M J Balster and Mrs Fannie Starkey and two brothers Benjamin and Henry Tobias.

Wounded in Temple a Farmer Found Dead in Barn
Cyrus Korsmeyer a 44 year old farmer living southeast of Alhambra was found dead in his barn at 16 o'clock from a self inflicted gunshot. A 22 caliber rifle lay beside him and the bullet pierced his right temple. He had been absent from home for hours before a search began. Funeral plans were not set. Ill health and melancholia are given as factors. He left a widow and three children Irma Imil and Laura aged 18 to 13.
