Prairie Du Chien Wis Dec 6 An inquest opens with testimony from relatives of Olsen and Sanford Olsen 18 about two letters found connected to Clara Wison 22 whose body was buried in a shallow grave near the Olsen farm. State pathologist Dr C H Bunting says she died from a fatal blow to the head and was about to become a mother.

Granite City man may be released in stabbing case
Jasper Greer of Granite City could gain release from county jail after Neal Markin, detained as principal in the fatal stabbing of William McGrothin on November 27, told Coroner W H Bauer and Sheriff E H Deimling that Greer had no part in the killing. The coroner will decide on action, with a court order likely. Bail was set at 5000 and Greer had refused to testify at the coroner’s inquest. Elmer Ballance testified. Markin returned to Granite City and surrendered claiming a fight with the dead man.
