Chickens Stolen From Two Farms East of Edwardsville
Thieves struck two farms east of Edwardsville early this morning taking Rhode Island Red hens. At the Schaefer home on Hillsboro Road fourteen White Plymouth Rock hens were stolen, with two hatchery bands Nos. 430 and 473 cut from legs. A screen door was broken and the thefts were discovered this morning. owners plan further checks tonight. Police are investigating losses near Carpenters Road and Hillsboro Road.
