Thanksgiving Turkeys Roasted Elsewhere As Currents Cut Power
Strong winds up to 60 mph knocked out power to about 35 000 homes in Puget Sound delaying Thanksgiving meals. Residents improvised by cooking in trailers and at relatives houses while others hunted for open delis and fast food. Weather caused downed trees, flooding, and closures of ferries and bridges, with damages including a McDonald’s roof.
