Council Rejects Reclassification for Community Services Director
Edmonds city council voted 4-3 to deny Mayor Larry Naughten’s request to create a new E-11 classification for the community services director. The position, currently E-10, oversees 81 employees across planning, public works, engineering and parks, with arguments that it carries higher responsibility than other E-10 roles and that pay is inequitable compared to similar posts in other cities.
