Freeway ramps delayed by 220th Street widening

Mountlake Terrace officials say opening of the new I-5 ramps must wait until 220th Street widening is finished. The project expands the roadway from the 220th Street bridge over I-5 to Highway 99 from four to five lanes, with traffic limited to two during construction. City Manager Bob White and City Engineer Carl Rautenberg urge delaying ramp openings until repaving and lane additions are completed. The express will add a southbound entrance to I-5 and a northbound exit.
