Subsidized housing shortage hits Snohomish County
In Mountlake Terrace and across Snohomish County the need for subsidized housing far outstrips supply. Brentwood complex under construction in Mountlake Terrace will provide 34 units by spring, but officials warn the overall demand remains high with about 1,000 names on waiting lists for subsidized housing. Community planners note long waits affect seniors and large families, as new projects cover mainly 2 to 4 bedroom family units.
