Owl Man of Mill Creek Crafts Cedar Owls From Dead Stumps
Don Farber, Mill Creek maintenance head known as Owl Man, carves life sized cedar owls from dead stumps for residents citywide. Since 1979 he has created about 25 sighted owls, with work expanding after Mill Creek became a city in 1976. Farber, a former Navy aviation mechanic, says the owls bring whimsy to a growing community of 3,400 with homes, a country club, golf course, and shopping center.
