Water worries shadow Shannonwood Village annexation
Mountlake Terrace residents fear Shannonwood Village development in unincorporated Snohomish County will pollute a local creek used by animals. Owner Jon Becker and neighbor Donald Hagen urge careful water protection as developer Moody seeks annexation to access city sewer, tax rolls, and emergency services. Becker predicts higher taxes and safety concerns from electric fences for future residents, while Moody argues modern storm water and environmental safeguards will address issues. The plan, approved by local boards, awaits Snohomish County and Boundary Review Board approval.

City approves $10 fee hike for impounding cars
Lynnwood officials approve a $10 increase in city towing and impound fees. Day rate rises from $40 to $50 and the night rate from $45 to $55. The move, urged by Shannon Towing’s H L Bud Kopp, reflects higher overhead costs and alignment with South County peers. No complaints about Shannon’s service are noted.
