Many Persons Killed on Southern Railway Tracks
Atlanta report shows 174 deaths on Southern Railway property in the year ending June 20 from trespassing on tracks or swinging trains. Over the three prior years trespasser fatalities totaled 55, 126, and 146, bringing 1914 1915 and 1916 to 601 lives lost. The victims include wage earners and a large share of school boys killed while hopping trains.

Johnston couple wed during uncle's home ceremony

Harmony School to Open With New Principal and Assistants
Harmony School will open next Monday with Prof. G. F. Long as principal, assisted by Miss Emmie Wright Miss Sara Stevens and Miss Stalnaker. The session starts in the old wooden building until the new brick structure and furniture, estimated at about 48.00, is ready by late November if favorable weather continues.
