Queries consider church work attendance brotherly love Holy Spirit in conviction and conversion. Second division and 1st division meetings follow with sermons and queries led by multiple pastors and a moderator.
The Graniteville News laments editor absence and defends President McKinley while urging restraint toward his policies. It questions southern confidence in the chief executive and calls readers to withhold premature criticism and seek constructive views.
Edgefield county forms a committee to secure a Woman's Work exhibit for the Charleston Exposition. Members include Mesdames Rainsford, Wigfall Cheatham, Sheppard, Haltwanger, Tompkins, and others from Edgefield Johnston Trenton Woodlawn Meeting Street Parksville. Members urged to solicit exhibits and funds to cover freight space decoration and fixtures. contributions welcome. articles to be sent to committee members for shipment. Mrs Alice Hammond wife of Tommie Hammond died Sunday night September 8 1901 at 11 oclock after a valiant illness. She spoke calmly of departure and was ready to meet God. Rev J T Littlejohn led funeral services at Red Hill church with the sermon There remaineth therefore a rest for the people of God. Converse College offers modern buildings and facilities including library laboratories gymnasiums and society halls with a conservatory of music on a 55 acre campus. It lists 250 000 in property 427 students from twenty states and a scholarship standard equal to top men’s colleges with A B and A M courses. The next session begins September 26 1901 and prospectuses are available from the president.
Master Roath of Edgefield County Court of Common Pleas will sell at public outcry before the Edgefield Court House on the first Monday in October 1901 the property of 4H P Lowe guardian and Tom Gray and Lucretia Whitaker. The parcel measures 0.018 of an acre with an alleyway, bounded by a public road, A Green lot, Lucretia Whitaker lands, and Beaver Dam Creek. Cash paid for papers. September 11, 1901.

Blackwell as administrator and guardian announces a sale in Edgefield County offering 54 acres in Plant Branch near Parksville, a 4 acre Parksville lot, and a complete ginery outfit with two gin houses and machinery. Terms: half cash and one year credit with interest, or all cash at purchaser’s option. Public notice includes bond or mortgage to secure credit portion.
An old practitioner touts a new treatment for catarrh named Snuffles Guaranteed Catarrh Cure sold at one dollar per package. It claims to remove canls and discharges, cure inflammation, and even address coughs and consumption when used as directed, with a full month’s regimen and speviator from the discoverer.
An advertisement touts a so called Home Cure for alcoholism claiming it erases cravings and can cure the drinker no matter the severity. It markets a tea like preparation, prepaid world wide, with physicians available on request and a price of one dollar per package. The piece also includes a railway timetable snippet for the Charleston and Western Carolina Railway with connections and schedules.
An old newspaper fragment includes a Steam Cotton Gin advertisement urging readers to invest a dollar and promising profits. It also lists a church directory with preacher Stewart and monthly Sabbath services, plus a note about a teething remedy for babies and a housing/rent notice seeking board or lodging in Edgefield with contact via A F P.
