The Edgefield Association reports two wholesome days spent at Horn's Creek by local Baptists. Attendees enjoyed spiritual fellowship, sermons, and community meals, highlighting renewal and growth within the church.
The 106th Edgefield Baptist association met at Horn's Creek church with O Sheppard and J T Littlejohn reelected moderator and clerk, Col S B Mays named treasurer, and a full day of reports on missions temperance education and women’s work followed by a bountiful lunch and warm hospitality. The gathering praised church progress, urged support for the aged ministers fund and foreign missions, and planned next year’s meeting at Ebenezer near Trenton.
Professor J. K. Breedin of Anderson College resigns as dean and professor to edit a new Manning newspaper. He helped raise funds plan buildings select faculty and supervise campus expansion. The Baptist Courier notes his strong record and wishes him success in journalism.
Archie Lindsay, 9 miles west of Edgefield on Charles C. Jones farm, was shot at close range near dark last Friday while returning from a spring. His wife heard the shot and a negro boy found the body in the path. Five local Negroes Cham berlain Richard Martin Ben Martin Mary Barnes and Essie Lindsey are jailed awaiting inquest results.

Greenwood leaders meet Edgefield Chamber of Commerce to back a trolley linking Aucnsia and Greenwood via Edgefield. The group seeks $50,000 in first mortgage bonds from Greenwood and plans a second conference with James A. Jackson after his return from New York.

Awards include first place prizes of 3.00 for best chrysanthemums, white varieties, pink collections, yellow and red collections, and various single cuts and plant collections with second place prizes of 2.00, 1.00, or 0.50 as specified.
