Protracted Methodist services continue this week led by Rev. Thacker with Rev. Peele assisting, likely two weeks. W M U Convention Held at Gilgal Church Edgefield
The Edgefield W M U met at Gilgal church on August 29 with most societies represented despite heavy rain. Miss Alma Williams greeted guests. Rev Cannada urged Christian education and funding for Edisto Academy. A dinner program featured declamation and song. a debate on state missions followed, with Mrs Lott and Mrs Young presenting the affirmative.

The Advertiser reports it has full county box returns by nine o'clock on primary night and will receive complete returns from all boxes again next Tuesday. It will also collect second election totals soon and will obtain telegrams from the State with results across South Carolina.
