The county faces a dispensary election set for December seven with 720 petitions, widely expected to vote out the dispensary. Edgefield town plans an electric light plant with ten thousand dollars subscribed, aiming to form a stock company if profitable, and urges more water supply.
Dr J T Pattison has been reinstated as treasurer of Edgefield County after a suspension by Governor Heyward following a grand jury complaint. The Columbia State reports Governor Heyward approved the reinstatement upon the delegation’s recommendation, with charges limited to negligence and irregularities, not malfeasance.
In Edgefield County a public notice orders the immediate turnover of the county treasurer’s office to the reinstated official in the performance of his duties. The directive applies to the county treasurer position and its associated bounty.
Mr. Percy Marshall Feltham of Greenville will marry Miss Curran Hartley in a planned ceremony at the Bates mansion in Edgefield. Rev Charles Burts will pronounce the vows, with Miss Julia Crouch as maid of honor and Eugene Bates as best man. An ornate reception will follow with music by James J.
