Crazy Cambridge mother kills seven children and self
Mrs. Clarence Markham of near Cambridge Illinois killed her seven children with an axe, then set fire to bodies saturated with coal oil. She wounded herself, attempted suicide, and after rescue admitted the crime, burning herself and the home. Neighbors found her badly burned and bleeding.
