Death of William B Penn ends long Edgefield career
William Britton Penn of Edgefield died after a months long illness. He aged nearly 64 and built a lifelong business at his family drug store begun in 1845 by his father George Lee Penn. He chaired local civic life, served as Farmers Bank director, and remained loyal to Edgefield. Funeral was led by Dr. E Pendleton Jones. He never married and lived with his niece Mrs Julian D Holstein. mourners included relatives from Huntington Park California and Rome Georgia.
