Saluda Jail Holds Four Charged in October Fire

Constable Henry Bodie jailed four negroes this afternoon for the October fire that burned Mr. J. M. Forrest’s dwelling. Forrest tracked the gang with aid from a worker who turned state evidence. Prisoners plead not guilty but are believed guilty. Sheriff Whittle may schedule hangings after the August term.
