Sunday morning at 11 o'clock Rev P P Blalock will preach at the Methodist church. At 8 p m the pastor Rev G W M Taylor will preach.
Miss Emmie Hall and Mr. Butler Covar married at the home of Mr. John George in Mill Village Monday night at 8 o clock with Rev. G W M Taylor officiating. The newlyweds are well known in Edgefield and at Addison Mills where they are employed.

Miss Martha Strom and Mr Curtis Corley wed in Greenwood on Sunday afternoon with Dr Jester officiating. The couple, from Greenwood, will visit Mrs Strom's relatives in Edgefield for several days.
The Advertiser notes a page ad by C. H. Schneider & Company of Augusta for the bankrupt stock sale of The Hub store next to Farmers Bank. The firm bought cheap at bankruptcy sale and offers sharp prices starting Friday, aiming to convert to cash quickly.
The auxiliary to the American Legion thanks the public for dinner support at the picnic despite rain causing some losses. Mrs Feltham assists in returning misplaced items. B M I Minstrels wowed the crowd with Col F N K Bailey Capt Cain and others present.
Since last November Mr Winn bought over 40000 railroad crossties for the C and W C railroad all delivered at Plum Branch. About 30000 in cash has been paid there for crossties. Winn credits advertisements in The Advertiser and McCormick paper for boosting his sales and notes the ties constitute 60 percent of the railroad's supply from last fall. The payments have helped local sellers and the community meet expenses.
Mrs J G Holland and Miss Ruth Tompkins hosted a Tuesday afternoon party for Miss Rosela Parker at the new home. Guests signed the bride’s book, bridge tables filled the rooms, and Virginia Holland passed tally cards. Mrs John Rainsford won top score as a two course tea followed. Out of town guests included Mrs Arthur Tompkins Jr of Columbia and Miss Rosada Talbert of Parksville.

Mrs. J S Byrd entertained Saturday afternoon for two brides elect Miss Rosela Parker and Miss Margaret May. Guests registered in the brides books and received score cards and favors. The party featured roses and sweet peas with Paul Neyron table markers. Prizes included a linen towel head prize won by Mrs. P M Feltham and a booby towel given to Miss Virginia Addison.
