Edgefield Town Adopts Hog Containment Ordinance
The Edgefield town council imposes a May 10 1898 start date for hog confinement rules requiring pens of at least 200 square feet per hog or 200 feet from wells. Violations are nuisances with fines up to five dollars or jail up to ten days. removal of noncompliant pens at owner expense after 12 hours notice.
