Corn Club Organized in Edgefield County

Edgefield forms the Boys Corn Club with about twenty members led by presidents Ken Prescott and N T Broadwater. L. Baker of Sumter county speaks on farm demonstration and seed selection. Swearingen and district agents praise the movement and note many counties have organized clubs.

Great Western Agency Change Consolidates Departments

The Great Western Life of Kansas City Georgia and South Carolina merges its general agencies into one Southeastern Department headquartered in Atlanta and Edgefield. W B Cogburn named General Manager with headquarters in Augusta Georgia. Cogburn previously ran South Carolina and joins expanded territory incl Fort & Son area. The company intends to grow its agency force and business in the two states.

Not seriously injured peach crop in Meriwether region

Dispatch from Meriwether to the Augusta Chronicle reports the cold snap of the 16th did not seriously injure peaches in the Meriwether Clark's Hill area. Some blooms were killed, but vigorous elevated orchards may yield large fruit after thinning. The Meriwether belt is famed for its reliable peach crop and high quality.
