Grand Jury Opens Edgefield Sessions With Judge Moore
The spring term of general sessions opened with Judge Ernest Moore of Lancaster presiding. He charged the grand jury on duties, emphasized public welfare, and urged vigilance over county officials and school laws. Indictments were handed up, including Price for murder and Busseys for property dispositions. Price was acquitted on the first trial.

Grand Jury Report for Edgefield March Term

Uniform motor car valuation set by county board of equalization
The County Board of Equalization met in the Auditor J. R. Timmerman’s office presided by J. L. Mims. Personal property will be assessed at last year’s value. real estate will wait until 1918. Cars will be valued at 40 percent of purchase price the first year, 20 percent after two years, and 10 percent for lesser value. The board will reconvene March 25.
