An empty Pittsburg Railway street car on a steep grade along the Wyle and Bedford avenue branch ran away past its motorman for two blocks before leaving the rails and crashing into Reinerker's confectionery store. Two men were seriously injured and several others slightly hurt. all injured besides the motorman were in the store at the time. The two-story building and the street car were demolished.
