After twenty years of state-supported experimentation, the farm produces about 10,000 pounds annually, while U.S. tea consumption totals around 100,000,000 pounds yearly. The tariff proposal would tax domestic consumers to raise 10 million dollars to boost this single plantation’s profits by about one thousand.
The organizer invites racing fans to a Saturday meet starting at 3 PM at a new half mile regulation track in Trenton. Veteran James T Adams died early Monday morning June 21 at his sister Bettie Allens home where he had lived for years. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the Shemuel Nicholson burial ground. He was the eldest child of the late Joseph Adams and survived by Mrs J F Daniel, Mrs Bettie Allen, and Mr W J Adams. He served four years for his county as a Confederate veteran and was a quiet, retiring man who kept to himself.
