On July 8 a state run Tubercular Clinic will open in Johnston offering free examinations by a nurse from Orangeburg county and a physician for anyone desiring. Local coverage notes community support and nearby officials, plus updates on residents and social events.
A large crowd attended Sunday services at Stevens Creek as the community mourns the pastor Mr. Brooke. Sympathy extends to Mrs. Sallie Bryan over her son Trapp Bryan’s illness in Thomson Georgia. Several locals visited, hosted and socialized with neighbors, sharing condolences for the Timerman family after the death of Mrs. F. L. Timerman Jr.’s wife.

Henry P. Kendall, president and treasurer of Lewis Manufacturing Co. of Walpole, Mass, will assume management of Wateree Mills in Camden and Addison Mills in Edgefield, S. C., on July 1. The move follows six years of temporary oversight while Lewis Manufacturing prepared to enter cotton cloth production and aligns Wateree and Addison with the parent firm and Slatersville Finishing Co.

A Hamilton County man, twenty six, of the Philip pi Baptist faith, died Wednesday morning at 11. He leaves a wife Mertie Willings and a daughter Edna along with his father Mr. Ransy Temples and siblings. Local relatives and friends extend heartfelt sympathy.
The W C T U plans a meeting with Mrs F P Salter on Friday June 16 at four o clock. Local residents Helen Vance Ruth Salter Belle Privette Margaret Courtney Edith Herlong Laurie Moore Lena Long and others are noted with visits graduations and trips to Charleston Columbia Ninety Six Augusta and Ehrhardt. A seventh eighth grade picnic at Salter's pond and various family travels are listed.
