Mrs George Bussey nee Eva Wates was taken to Augusta on Friday for an appendicitis operation. She was accompanied by Dr J N Crafton and family members. The operation Saturday morning was more difficult than expected, but current reports state she is recovering well and will have a longer hospital stay than usual.
In Trenton a man named Willis Brown died after a Christmas Eve incident, found near the railroad with head wounds and a whiskey flask nearby. Rumors implicate others, but nothing confirmed. The piece criticizes liquor flow from Aiken county and Augusta, urges action on prohibition, and notes local farm efforts, business changes, and residents moving to Florida.

Items include a 20 hp engine 25 hp boiler self parking cotton gin 80 ft rubber belting wagon scales a 3 ft corn rock with gearing mule bay horse and milh cow. Cash terms. Mayas Tompkins advertises doilies priced to 2 50 per dozen.
After selling his barber shop to Mr. T. E. Strom, A. J. Davis expresses gratitude to Edgefield residents for their liberal patronage and asks continued support for Strom. He extols Rhode Island Reds as popular winter layers with rapid growth, hardy chicks, and superb table fowl qualities.
An old health column explains kidney function and signs of trouble. It notes the kidneys filter blood every three minutes and remove about 500 grains of impure matter daily when healthy. A testimonial from Walter Doan of Cedar Row, Edgefield, S.C. praises Doan's Kidney Pills, with sale by Foster Milburn Co. Buffalo New York at 50 cents.
I thank the good people of Mother Parks ville and surrounding county for kindness and liberal contributions aiding me after a fire in October. The community celebrated the December 23 marriage of Miss Etta Sula Wash and Mr. J Eddie Strom at the bride’s home with a formal ceremony led by Rev J T Littlejohn.
