Edgefield County completes its first WWI quota sending 102 colored men to Camp Jackson under Joseph Lanham with brief addresses by Capt Evans Mr Simkins and Col West Oliphant. A lunch was provided by local groups. many negro residents gathered to bid farewell as two cars carried the men away.
