Early Tuesday morning Mr M J Geary died at his brother in law’s home in McKendree. Interment will be in McKendree cemetery today. He was a Maryland native who moved here after the Civil War and served as a government pilot on the Chesapeake Bay. He was highly esteemed by neighbors and a Catholic church member. His widow was a Swiss born prior to her death on January 3.
Mrs. Mamie Tilman entertained more than fifty Edgefield guests in honor of Miss Annie Darlington of Washington DC. The party played a travel themed game at ten tables with stops linked to George Washington. Prizes awarded to Miss Lura Mims and Mr Henry Medlock. Guests pledged a reunion on March 4 on the capital steps.
