Mina Eidson Dies After Stroke In Johnston

Miss Mina Eidson died at her brother J. D. Eidson’s home after a stroke and prolonged illness. The funeral was at Bethlehem church with burial in the family plot alongside relatives. The piece notes her quiet Christian character and long illness.

Revolution of Edgefield pledges $100 for a school fund and urges attendance at the luncheon to support literacy efforts in the state. Event runs December 22 23 24 at the Court House with proceeds to the cause.

The Christmas cantata will be sung Sunday evening at 5 30 in the Baptist church with choir from all churches and about twenty musicians. Mrs Mamie N Tillman trains the chorus and plays pipe organ. New Firm at Cleora Formed by West and Williams

Mr. P. B. West and Mr. H. H. Williams have bought the mercantile business of Mr. W. T. Reel at Cleora and have taken charge of the store. They have also leased Reel's Cleora farm with one to supervise the farm and the other to run the store, creating a strong combined operation. The Florida letter from Ft White and Plum Branch details Capt T W Getzin hosting, a 1200 acre up to date farm, corn yields of 18-25 bushels, peanuts 50-75, syrup 150 gallons, cotton potential 300 pounds per acre, boll weevil presence, hogs and cows as money crops, weekly hog shipments, corn and syrup prices, and land on the Itchtucknee river with clear springs.

Journey with Captain Getzen Through Florida Palm Groves
