W C T U December meeting and club notes
The December meeting of the W C T U held with Mrs James White opened with praise for prohibition and a welcome to attendees. Miss Zena Payne presided, committees reported on the petition to prohibit intoxicating drinks, and a drive to influence licensing and Christmas week plans were discussed. The group planned prayer, fundraising for the Door of Hope, and recognized Mrs O D Black as State District Historian. The Apollo Music Club hosted a 25 member gathering with Christmas carol plans and Belgian Christmas Fund contributions. Verdi was featured in the study period with talks, music selections, and a social hour, followed by other club activities and local notices.

Death of Miss Paris Munday in December News
In Sweetwater community notes Miss Paris Munday, who had lived with her brother J. W. Munday, died while visiting Harlem Georgia relatives. Her remains were brought to Sweetwater for interment Friday at 3 p.m. Also included are social visits, fox-hunt outings, and Christmas programs with plans for a December 22 event featuring supper, cakes, and a doll prize to raise funds for the building.

Boll Weevil Campaign Meetings Across Edgefield County
The U S Department of Agriculture and South Carolina State Extension Plan five boll weevil meetings in Edgefield County at Trenton Johnston Edgefield Red Hill and Cleora from the 15th to the 20th instant. Three speakers will discuss boll weevil live stock and forage crops. The meetings are the most important ever held in the county and all farmers merchants bankers and housekeepers are urged to attend.
